Radio „Europa Liberă” oferă o nouă bursă pentru perfecționarea tinerilor jurnaliști, interesați să-și extindă experiența multi-media.

Scopul bursei de opt luni este de a oferi candidaților șansa de a lucra și de a se perfecționa sub îndrumarea atentă a jurnaliștilor din biroul de la Chișinău al Europei Libere.

Stagiul include și o vizită de studiu la sediul central al RFE/RL de la Praga.

Bursa este oferită jurnaliștilor din țările Parteneriatului Estic și este finanțată parțial de Ambasada SUA în Cehia.

Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) is now accepting applications for the 2017-2018 RFE/RL Regional Reporting Fellowship.

Program Summary

Fellows will be selected on a competitive basis from Eastern Partnership countries and placed with a local RFE/RL bureau. They will be integrated into the daily work of the bureau, where they will work on a full-time basis producing reports, multi-media products and social media content in the local language, while receiving supervision and mentoring from RFE/RL’s seasoned professionals. (English-language proficiency is not required.) As a result of the program, Fellows are expected to strengthen their journalistic skills and knowledge, develop their editorial judgment, expand their professional networks, and deepen their understanding of the role of an independent press in their country.

The Fellowship is for an eight-month term, running approximately from November 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018. It will include a visit to RFE/RL’s headquarters in Prague for additional professional development.

Fellows will receive a monthly stipend for the term of the program consistent with the local wage scale, workspace at an appropriate RFE/RL bureau, and paid travel and accommodations to Prague. Housing may be provided for Fellows who must relocate to work at the local bureau.

A complete application must include the following materials:

1. Cover letter: to include the applicant’s reasons for applying to the program; journalistic interests, values, or experiences that would qualify the applicant for the program; and the applicant’s professional goals following the Fellowship’s completion.

2. CV: to include personal data, professional experience and affiliations, educational background, and language proficiency.A copy of the CV in English must be provided.

3. Two work samples in the applicant’s working language, on any platform, published within the last 12 months, demonstrating the applicant’s best work.

As part of the selection process, applicants may be contacted by RFE/RL for an interview, in-person, by telephone, or by Skype.

Selection

The selection process is competitive. Applicants will be selected on the basis of their qualifications, their ability to contribute to the work of the bureau, their commitment to the program’s mission, and their professional motivation and goals, as stated in the cover letter.

Applicants will be notified of their selection on Friday, October 6, 2017.
