Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin proposed on March 20 First Deputy Prime Minister Zenaida Grecianii for the post of premier. The post has become vacant after Vasile Tarlev's resignation on March 19. Political analysts suggest that President Voronin pressured Tarlev to step down as part of his long-term preparations for the parliamentary elections due next year.
