The Supreme Soviet of Moldova's breakaway Transdniester region on March 15approved a plan to restructure Transdniester's debt to the Russian gas supplier Gazprom. Details of the plan appear to involve the transfer of debt from Transdniester's gas distributor to the Transdniestrian administration. According to Basa Press, at the beginning of 2007 Transdniester's debt to Gazprom amounted to $1.3 billion.
