Afer a meeting in Chisinau with his counterpart Voronin, President Basescu announced on Tuesday that two new Romanian consulates would be opened temporarily in Balti and Cahul. The decision was taken as the existing consulate in Chisinau cannot cope with the huge number of visa applications submitted by Moldovan citizens. The visas were introduced after Romania’s accession to the EU.
