Secessionist authorities in Moldova's break-away Transdniester region have banned all foreign-financed NGOs from operating in the region. According to a statement from the office of the region's self-styled president Igor Smirnov, foreign-financed NGOs pose "a direct threat to the internal security of Transdniester."
