President Basescu said Romania's relations with Moldova are a "foreign policy priority". In an interview with Realitatea TV, Basescu said that after neglecting for the last 10 years Moldova and the importance of the Black Sea region Romanian foreign policy finds itself "out of the game" in the search for a solution to the Transdniester conflict, despite the fact that Moldova has a "large Romanian majority." He added he was ready to visit Chisinau and discuss these issues with his Moldovan counterpart Vladimir Voronin.
