Bucharest: The Constitutional Court rejected a complaint made by 51 liberal deputies against the article of the new electoral law stipulating that the state president may run for a parliamentary seat on the list of a political party, if his mandate expires in the next 3 months. President Iliescu may thus candidate for a Senate seat on the lists of the Social Democrat Party, whose founder he is.
