Bucharest: state president may run for a parliamentary seat in his last 3 months of mandate

The law regarding the parliamentary elections in Romania was adopted with a majority of 160 votes. The law allows the state president, in the 3 last months of his mandate, to run for a parliamentary seat as an independent candidate on the lists of a political party or an electoral alliance.

The Liberal - Democrat Alliance which opposed this article of the law announced that it would ask the Constitutional Court to pass a judgement on it.
