Moldova does not guarantee any properties privatized by Tiraspol

Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev’ cabinet has unveiled a draft amendment stipulating that Moldova does not guarantee any properties privatized in the breakaway enclave of Transnistria unless transactions are approved by the Chisinau government.

The Tarlev executive also announced on Wensday that it would rewrite within one month the privatization law in order to work out new privatization procedures for the Transnistrian region.

These measures came as a reaction to Tiraspol's announcement that it was extending the privatization process. The unrecognized republic sold last year 14 enterprises and intends to sell another 75 enterprises this year.
