Chişinău to agree to Russia's WTO membership

The Moldovan government announced on December 21 that Chisinau plans to sign a protocol on Russia's admission to the World Trade Organization (WTO) by the end of the year. The government's press service said the cabinet has granted Trade and Economy Minister Igor Dodon authorization to sign the document. Moldova and Georgia are the last two WTO members that must agree to Russia's accession. In November, Chisinau and Moscow overcame a major hurdle when Russia agreed to lift a ban on Moldovan wines.
