Moldova announced on June 6 that it plans to reduce the number of wine exporters, in an effort to assure improvements in the quality of its wine. Valeriu Mironescu, director of the state agricultural agency Moldova-Vin, also said that quality controls will be stricter, including a three-stage inspection process during production, bottling, and transportation. Moldova's wine industry will also stop using certain pesticides.
