Olli Rehn appalled by possibility of snap elections

European Commissioner for Enlargement Olli Rehn stressed during talks with Bucharest authorities that political stability was a prerequisite for Romania’s EU integration and that organizing early elections this year “would not be particularly wise”.

Rehn told Romanian Prime Minister Tariceanu during a meeting in Bucharest that “Romania must have political stability and parliamentary discipline so that we can be sure reform will continue until and after EU accession”. He added that organising early elections would jeopardise Romania’s recent achievements.
