Russia's State Duma on March 10 denounced the new customs regulations at the Ukraine – Transdniester border as "economic sanctions" and said they were aimed at putting political pressure on the separatist authorities. Ukraine and Moldova say the European Union-backed regulations are aimed at curbing illegal trade.
