The Moldovan government announced on 10 August that it had met all the conditions required by Russia for lifting its import ban on Moldovan meat. Russia introduced the ban in April, asserting as an accusation that Moldova was involved in re-exporting since its total amount of meat exports to Russia exceeded that produced domestically. Moldova's state veterinary inspection announced on 10 August that it had worked out a new, fake-proof certificate for meat exports that would help eliminate re-exports in future.
