PPCD leader accuses Moscow of attempting to oil his hand

Iurie Rosca, leader of the opposition Popular Party Christian Democratic (PPCD) accused Moscow of attempting to bribe his party to hold antigovernment protests. "After the elections, operatives in certain Russian structures asked me how much money was needed to make the PPCD set up a tent camp in the center of Chisinau again, the way it did in 2002. I realized that this was an attempt to set us against President Vladimir Voronin so that somebody could benefit from that," Rosca told RFE. The PPCD leader added that the attempt had the opposite effect, leading the party to support Voronin instead.
