Transnistrian military forces occupy the Tighina railway station

The Transnistrian militia and special military forces stormed and occupied on Monday the railway station in Tighina. The chief-engineer of the station Vasile Magaleas was arrested and sentenced to a 15 day detention under charges of hooliganism.

The secessionist administration claimed that the September 6 seizure of the railway station in Tighina was "a response to provocations by Moldovan police." Tiraspol had earlier warned that it would seize Moldovan railway offices in the region in response to Chisinau's economic sanctions imposed on August 1.
