The Alliance of the Liberal and Democratic Parties has won the second round of local elections in 4 of the 6 Bucharest districts - according to preliminary results published by the electoral commissions. Two weeks ago, Traian Basescu, the incumbent general mayor of Bucharest and candidate of the Liberal-Democratic Alliance surpassed his challenger from the ruling party PSD, Foreign Minister Mircea Geoana, by almost 25 percent.
