The Coordinating Council of the Audiovisual reinstated on Thursday the municipal radio and television stations Antena-C and EuroTV in their broadcasting rights. Antena-C and EuroTV will restart their activity immediately after the CCA decision is published in Monitorul Oficial.
The journalists from the two municipal broadcasters who were on hunger strike gave up their protest after hearing the CCA decision.
Claus Neukirch, spokesman for the OSCE Mission to Moldova, welcomed the CCA decision and expressed his hope that the two press institutions would go on air in the next days.
The electronic media watchdog suspended Antena-C and EuroTV two months ago, demanding the Chisinau City Hall to register the two broadcasters as distinct entities, in line with the audiovisual law.
