NGOs insist on implementing the law providing access to information of public interest

3 NGOs have sued state institutions in court for violating the law guaranteeing free access to public information. The Foundation for an Open Society (FSD), The Institute for Public Politics (IPP) and The Centre for Judicial Resourses (CRJ) have asked for information concerning public spending, the criteria for classifying information and even the composition of some state structures.

Renate Weber, FSD president, said that the government was sued because prime minister Năstase and the General Secretary of his cabinet Bejinariu refused to provide information regarding the economic activities of their wives, children and other relatives.
