The National Liberal Party (PNL) has asked President Iliescu not to promulgate the Local Elections Law as long as it does not regulate the problem of political migration. PNL leader Theodor Stolojan announced his party’s intention to propose a draft law that stipulates mandate loss in case one leaves the party on whose list he has been elected. New elections should be organized if a mayor leaves the party which nominated him on a uninominal list.
